Varun Dhawan’s next ‘Badlapur’ has been given an ‘A’ certificate because of the sex and violence in the film.
It
is said that CBFC was ready to give away a ‘U/A’ if the makers cut down
the sex and violence in the film. “But Sriram (Raghavan) categorically
told the Board that he's very happy with an 'A' certificate as long as
no scenes are cut. This caused some surprise as most filmmakers put up a
fight,” a source said.
"They
wanted the makers to tone down the steamy scenes. There is a lovemaking
scene between Varun and his on-screen wife Yami Gautam which they asked
to be trimmed. They also recommended that a passionate kiss between
Huma Qureshi, a prostitute, and Varun's character, should be watered
down to a passing smooch," the source added.
CBFC
also wanted the makers to delete a scene in which Varun is seen
hammering a man to death. "It's one of the stand-out scenes of the film
and the team was firm that they wouldn't cut it," the source said.
